Facebook is expanding one of its newest features designed to help mobile users find accessible Wi-Fi networks. The company had begun testing a “Find Wi-Fi” option last year on mobile, which highlighted free, public Wi-Fi networks nearby. At the time, the option was only available on iOS in select countries, as something of a test. Facebook announced users worldwide on both iOS and Android devices will soon gain access to “Find Wi-Fi.”
"Today we’re beginning to roll out Find Wi-Fi everywhere in the world on iPhone and Android. We launched Find Wi-Fi in a handful of countries last year and found it’s not only helpful for people who are traveling or on-the-go, but especially useful in areas where cellular data is scarce," Alex Himel, Engineering Director at Facebook wrote in a blog post friday. "Find Wi-Fi helps you locate available Wi-Fi hot spots nearby that businesses have shared with Facebook from their Page. So wherever you are, you can easily map the closest connections when your data connection is weak," he added in his post.
Now you can automatically find a free WiFi hotspots by doing nothing .It will be very helpful to its users .Now it is not confirmed by facebook that the feature will available in Facebook lite or not. But it is a very bold step by Facebook . So start finding free WiFi hotspots.
